A series of attacks targeting security personnel has taken place in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, leaving two police officers dead and more than 20 people injured.


According to Afghanistan International, a vehicle laden with explosives detonated near a police station in the Bannu district, triggering a prolonged gun battle between the attackers and police officers. At least 10 people were injured in the incident, including six police personnel.


In a separate attack in the Lower Dir district, two police officers were killed and 16 others wounded.


The militant group Ittihad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan, which is linked to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the attack in Bannu.
