The 4th Shusha Global Media Forum aims to provide an international platform for dialogue among media professionals while giving participants an opportunity to observe the reconstruction of Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the forum's opening ceremony.
“The idea of the forum was to create an atmosphere for media representatives from different parts of the world to address issues of common interest and mutual concern, while also giving them the opportunity to get acquainted with Garabagh and Shusha. As time passes, I am sure that many of our guests who visit us regularly can see the development of Garabagh and witness its ongoing reconstruction,” the Azerbaijani president said, Caliber.Az reports per state media.
Addressing broader regional connectivity, President Aliyev said Azerbaijan had spent years developing transport links by making use of its geographical location.
“We have worked on connectivity issues for a quite long time, working more actively for over 10 years,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
The head of state added: "Utilizing our geographic advantages, we made efforts to build a platform for multilateral cooperation."
"And now we are only working on the issues how to expand it, because we did not expect that our geography will be so needed in recent times. Interaction with neighbors to the east and to the west are excellent," President Ilham Aliyev said at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
He noted that Azerbaijan maintains strong relations with countries in Central Asia as well as neighboring Georgia and Türkiye, in addition to Europe.
"And to connect all that, of course, we needed to initiate many steps that could enable the corridor to be efficient," he added.
