More than 8,000 households in Estonia have been left without electricity following a powerful storm, according to the country’s public broadcaster ERR, citing power grid operator Elektrilevi.
The outages have affected northeastern and southeastern parts of the country.
Meteorologists have warned that the severe weather is expected to spread across the whole of Estonia.
The disruption comes just days after widespread power outages were reported on July 9, when the city of Tartu and surrounding areas were left without electricity. Those outages were attributed to technical problems that occurred during scheduled maintenance work.
