Longtime US Senator Lindsey Graham has died at 71, according to a statement released by his office on X.
“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period,” the statement said.
Graham had served as a US senator representing South Carolina since January 2003 and had been chairman of the Senate Budget Committee since January 2025.
