Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to avenge the “shed blood” of his father, Ali Khamenei, and those killed in recent wars with the United States and Israel, according to a written message issued after a farewell ceremony.

“This revenge is a demand of our people, and it will certainly be carried out,” the message said.

Mojtaba Khamenei did not attend the farewell ceremony or the funeral, with various sources citing security considerations.
