Tajikistan and China have discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on infrastructure development and investment projects.
Thus, Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, held talks with Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), where the sides reviewed areas for further cooperation, Caliber.Az reports via Tajik media.
The officials highlighted the strong state of Tajik-Chinese relations, describing them as a comprehensive strategic partnership achieved through the efforts of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The discussions focused on securing grants and technical assistance, upgrading transport infrastructure in Dushanbe, and the construction of a modern waste-processing facility capable of generating electricity. The sides also considered other infrastructure initiatives.
Additional areas of cooperation included education, healthcare, municipal services, human capital development, green economy projects, and attracting investment to Tajikistan’s free economic zones.
The parties confirmed their commitment to strengthening practical cooperation and implementing joint projects of mutual benefit.
