A fire broke out on July 4 in a building adjacent to the JW Marriott Hotel in Ankara, where U.S. President Donald Trump and members of his delegation are expected to stay during the upcoming NATO summit.
Firefighters were working to contain the blaze. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Authorities have not reported any injuries, and there were no indications that the fire posed a risk of spreading to nearby buildings, including the hotel.
The incident comes just days before Ankara hosts the NATO summit on July 7–8, when leaders of the alliance's member states, including President Trump, are expected to gather in the Turkish capital.
Security has already been heightened across Ankara ahead of the summit, with additional measures implemented around key venues and locations associated with the high-level meeting.
