Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, Colonel General Shahin Baghirov, has met with, head of Russia’s Federal Customs Service, Valery Pikalyov, to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation.


As Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, the Azerbaijani delegation also toured the Yarag-Kazmalyar and Takhirkent-Kazmalyar customs checkpoints operated by Russia's North Caucasus Customs Administration, where they reviewed the facilities' infrastructure, technical capabilities, cargo-handling capacity, and operational procedures.


During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on synchronizing the infrastructure capacities of customs checkpoints along the Azerbaijan-Russia border to facilitate and accelerate the movement of goods.


The officials also discussed the current state of customs cooperation between the two countries and explored promising areas for further collaboration.
