Russia will adopt political and military-technical measures in response to Finland's decision to lift its ban on the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory.

The warning was issued by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in a statement published on the ministry's official website.

"Given that Finland's top political leadership and the country's competent authorities have repeatedly stated officially that Russia poses no direct military threat to the Finnish people, this decision appears all the more groundless. It creates real threats to our country's national security, the neutralization of which will require Russia to take additional political and military-technical response measures. And let no one doubt that such measures will be adopted in a timely and effective manner," Zakharova said.

She stressed that Moscow's response would include both political and military-technical measures.
