Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded Hikmat Javad, Chairman of the United Azerbaijani Diaspora of Ukraine, the Order of Merit, Third Class.
Under Presidential Decree No. 532/2026, Hikmat Javad received the state award for his significant contribution to strengthening Ukrainian statehood, as well as for the courage and dedication he demonstrated in defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports.
The decree also cited his important personal contribution to various areas of public life and his conscientious fulfillment of professional duties.
Hikmat Javad, a Doctor of Law, has been actively involved in Ukraine’s social and political life for many years. He also serves as an adviser to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine.
In 2016, he was awarded Azerbaijan’s “Taraggi” (Progress) Medal by decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his contributions to the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
