Commercial flights between Iran and the United Arab Emirates are expected to resume as early as this week, according to Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation.

Majid Ahavan, a spokesperson for the agency, said the decision followed negotiations between the aviation authorities of the two countries and was facilitated through diplomatic efforts, Caliber.Az reports.

Under the first phase of the plan, Iranian airlines will resume flights to the UAE after receiving the necessary coordination and approval from Emirati aviation authorities, Ahavan said.

In the second phase, UAE carriers are expected to restart services to Iran once the required regulatory procedures are completed, allowing for the full restoration of bilateral air travel.
