On June 26, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with servicemen who were promoted to senior military ranks under a decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.


During the ceremony, the presidential decree dated June 25, 2026, granting the rank of Major General to officers of the Ministry of Defence, along with the relevant order issued by the defence minister, was read aloud before the promoted officers were formally presented with their new ranks, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.


Colonel General Zakir Hasanov conveyed the congratulations of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the officers, wished them continued success in their military careers and provided guidance on the effective performance of their official responsibilities.


The newly promoted officers, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr Ilham Aliyev, as well as the leadership of the Ministry of Defence for the trust placed in them.


They also reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling that trust through loyal and exemplary service.
