Armenia has no plans to withdraw from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev said.

Lebedev said Armenia's Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative to statutory and other CIS bodies Razmik Khumaryan, arrived in Moscow on June 25, participated in a meeting of the CIS Economic Council, and signed a number of documents, Sputnik Armenia reports.

The CIS secretary general also expressed confidence that the political situation in Armenia would stabilize following the country's parliamentary elections.

"I believe all the prerequisites are in place for this, as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already stated that he does not intend to withdraw the country from the Eurasian Economic Union. As for leaving the CIS, that issue is not being discussed at all. Armenia will remain a member of the organization," Lebedev said.
