European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono said she was "glad to be back in Baku" for consultations with Azerbaijani officials focused on regional developments, EU-Azerbaijan relations, connectivity opportunities and the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
In a series of posts on X, Grono said she held what she described as "intense consultations" with Presidential Advisers Hikmet Hajiyev and Elchin Amirbayov as well as Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov.
She noted that the exchanges focused on regional developments, EU-Azerbaijan relations, connectivity opportunities and the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, including ahead of upcoming high-level European Union engagement in Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"Agreed on the need to maintain the momentum of the series of historic achievements between the two countries on the road to sustainable peace, for which the EU will continue its support," EU official said.
