Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has welcomed the visit of Telegram founder Pavel Durov to Tbilisi.

Kobakhidze said Durov’s trip was not an official visit and therefore did not involve formal meetings, Caliber.Az reports, citing Vzglyad.

“Durov is a businessman and cannot hold official meetings. In general, we welcome visits to Georgia by any successful entrepreneur,” the prime minister noted.

Pavel Durov is the founder and owner of the messaging app Telegram, which has more than 1 billion monthly active users worldwide.

His wealth amounts to $6.6B.
