Polish developers have successfully tested the new long-range Striker unmanned aerial vehicle under field conditions in Ukraine. The drone is capable of striking targets at distances of up to 1,000 kilometres from its launch point.

The Striker underwent a series of comprehensive trials at a training ground in Ukraine’s Kyiv region. Ukrainian operators evaluated the system during the tests and provided positive feedback following the flights, according to foreign media.

The manufacturer emphasised the accuracy of the data collected during the trials. The Striker is classified as a deep-strike attack drone with a maximum takeoff weight of 140 kilograms.

The piston-engine version can reach speeds ranging from 90 to 180 km/h. For missions requiring higher speed, a jet-powered variant is available. That version can accelerate to 325 km/h, making it a more challenging target for air defence systems.

The drone’s key advantage is its operational range. Equipped with a 40-kilogram warhead, the Striker can travel up to 1,000 kilometres, enabling strikes against strategic targets deep behind enemy lines. The payload can also be increased to 60 kilograms.

Data transmission is carried out via a satellite communications channel, ensuring stable connectivity over long distances. According to the manufacturer, all control channels are protected by robust encryption, making it extremely difficult to seize control of the drone.

The UAV is launched from a pneumatic launcher.

In addition to strike missions, the platform can be used for reconnaissance operations. Its long endurance allows for extended surveillance of enemy territory.

The drone can also serve as an aerial target for training air defence units and improving their operational readiness.
