Participants in the 20th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) have welcomed the recent agreement between Iran and the United States aimed at ending the conflict, according to the final declaration adopted at the conclusion of the two-day meeting in Baku, Caliber.Az reports per local media.


The declaration states: "Welcome the agreement on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America to end the conflict, and to draw a road map for discussing and resolving the mutually agreed issues aiming at achieving the final deal. We further hope that the agreement would be fully implemented to the benefit of regional and international peace and security."


The participants also voiced deep concern over the growing manifestations of Islamophobia in various parts of the world.


"Express deep concern over growing Islamophobia and condemn all acts of violence based on religion or belief, hate speech and extremism motivated by discrimination on the grounds of religion; call on the international community to take effective measures to combat extremism, hate speech, defamation of religions, negative stereotyping and stigmatization of people on the basis of religion, belief or ethnicity at the national and global level," the declaration reads.
