Azerbaijan hosts discussion on Turkmen heritage in Iraq, Syria

Azerbaijan has discussed issues related to Turkmen heritage in Iraq and Syria as part of a meeting between representatives of the NGO Platform of the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States and Turkmen civil society organisations.

Held in the autonomous region of Nakhchivan, the event was attended by Azerbaijani MP Azer Allahveranov, representatives from Syria and Iraq, as well as heads of research centres, public organisations and local NGOs, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Participants focused on expanding cooperation between Turkic states and Turkmen civil society institutions, implementing joint projects, exchanging experience and further strengthening the unity of the Turkic world.
