Unknown assailants opened fire on two public buses in the Solnechny district of Yekaterinburg on June 24, injuring at least one passenger, local authorities said.


Bullets pierced the windows of both buses. Photographs published by the Telegram channel Yekaterinburg.Glavnoye, which is considered close to the city administration, appear to show a passenger who was struck in the abdomen.




Emergency services and police were dispatched to the scene following reports of the shooting. Authorities have not yet determined what type of weapon was used in the attack.


The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yekaterinburg said that information about the incident was received by Police Precinct No. 12. Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and working to identify those responsible.
