Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will reaffirm Türkiye’s position on Ukraine during his visit to Canada, TASS reports, citing a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The source said the visit will take place on June 25-26, where Fidan is expected to draw attention to the international community’s concerns over the recent escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports.

Türkiye is prepared to provide any support necessary to help achieve a swift settlement of the conflict in Ukraine through dialogue and diplomacy, according to the source.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Fidan would also stress the need for vigilance against potential provocations aimed at undermining agreements between the United States and Iran.

“In addition, Fidan will emphasise the need to remain alert to possible provocations intended to derail the agreements between the United States and Iran, and will underline that restoring the pre-conflict status quo in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring unimpeded freedom of navigation are of vital importance for global trade and energy supplies,” the ministry noted.
