Avetik Chalabyan, coordinator of the national-civic movement “HayaQve,” has been detained in Armenia, according to a statement published on the organisation’s Telegram channel.
“Early this morning, as part of yet another fabricated criminal case, HayaQve coordinator and public-political figure Avetik Chalabyan was detained,” the statement said.
The reasons for the detention were not disclosed.
On April 29, 2026, the Strong Armenia bloc, associated with Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the “HayaQve” movement.
