Police in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek have received more than 15 reports of suspected explosive devices at government facilities within a short period, prompting evacuations and security inspections across the city.
According to the Bishkek Main Internal Affairs Directorate, officers responded immediately to the alerts by cordoning off affected areas, evacuating staff and visitors, and deploying investigative teams, specialist units, and K-9 bomb detection squads, Caliber.Az reports via Kyrgyz media.
Police said most of the inspections have already been completed and no explosives were found.
“Reports of explosive devices have not been confirmed,” authorities said.
However, checks at several sites are still ongoing as security services continue to assess the situation.
Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation into the source of the false reports and are working to identify those responsible for disseminating them.
