A Pobeda Airlines passenger aircraft operating a flight from Gyumri to Moscow has made an emergency landing at Makhachkala Airport, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has stated.

Specialists are currently assessing the technical condition of the aircraft, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Earlier, the aircraft declared an emergency and began descending while flying over Russia’s Dagestan region.

It issued a general emergency signal less than an hour after take-off and descended to an altitude of approximately 3,000 metres.
