UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to outline plans for his departure from office as early as June 22, according to a report by The Observer.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, the newspaper reported that Starmer has concluded he no longer commands the support of Labour Party MPs, cabinet members, trade union leaders, or key donors.
The prime minister intends to set out a timetable for his resignation in order to ensure an orderly transition of power.
While the announcement could come in the coming days, Starmer is expected to remain in office until September, formally stepping down ahead of the Labour Party’s annual conference.
