Russia launched a large-scale overnight drone attack on Ukraine using 99 strike and decoy unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The drones included “Shahed,” “Gerbera,” and “Italmas” strike UAVs, along with “Parodia” decoy drones, the military said, Caliber.Az reports.
Ukrainian air defences, including anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups, were deployed to repel the attack.
As of 08:00 local time, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 92 of the drones had been shot down or neutralized across the north, south, and east of the country.
Seven strike drones were recorded hitting three locations, while debris from intercepted UAVs fell at three additional sites.
“The attack is ongoing; several Russian UAVs are in the airspace. Please observe safety precautions!” the Ukrainian Armed Forces said.
Authorities did not immediately provide details on casualties or damage.
