Moldova has expressed appreciation for the contribution of the Azerbaijani diaspora to strengthening cultural relations between the two countries, Moldova’s Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan has stated.
Jardan made the remarks during a meeting with an Azerbaijani delegation visiting Chișinău at the invitation of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting was attended by adviser to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Jahangir Salimkhanov, Chairman of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova Elchin Bayramov, Chairman of the Congress Council Ramil Adigozalov, as well as representatives of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Tural Safarov and Tahmasib Atakishiyev.
During the discussions, the sides reviewed prospects for further development of cultural cooperation between Moldova and Azerbaijan, exchanged views on joint initiatives, and emphasized the importance of preserving and strengthening friendly ties between the two peoples.
Particular attention was paid to the role of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Moldova, which, over many years, has contributed significantly to promoting intercultural dialogue and supporting projects aimed at bringing the two countries closer together.
Participants noted that such contacts help expand humanitarian cooperation and serve as an important tool of people-to-people diplomacy, strengthening mutual understanding between Moldovan and Azerbaijani societies.
The Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to Chișinău took place as part of events dedicated to the memory of Muslim Magomayev, whose artistic legacy continues to unite people across generations and cultures.
