Azerbaijan and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the country.


The talks focused on the current state of Azerbaijani-German bilateral relations and prospects for their further development, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.


The sides underlined the importance of expanding political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, and collaboration in key areas including energy security, green energy, transport and communications, education, healthcare, and culture.




The participants highlighted the role of reciprocal visits and high-level contacts in advancing bilateral ties and reviewed opportunities for further strengthening cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on fostering closer engagement between the business communities of the two countries.


The meeting also addressed regional developments in the post-conflict period, including the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and ongoing reconstruction efforts in territories liberated from occupation. The sides noted that the outcomes achieved during COP29 have contributed to advancing the global climate agenda.


FM Bayramov thanked Horlemann for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.


For his part, Horlemann expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure in Azerbaijan.


The discussions also included an exchange of views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
