The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries congratulated US President Donald Trump three times in a joint statement at the end of their summit in France over the resolution of the Iranian conflict.
According to sources cited by Politico, the wording was included in the final communiqué as a deliberate diplomatic gesture.
An unnamed diplomat said the phrasing was intended to avoid upsetting the internal balance within the G7 and to express support for Trump.
