A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).


The epicentre was located 46 kilometres southeast of the city of Palu on the island of Sulawesi, which has a population of around 282,000. The earthquake’s hypocenter was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.


No information on casualties or damage has been reported so far. Authorities also did not issue a tsunami warning following the quake.
