China and Azerbaijan have discussed prospects for cooperation during an event marking the International Day of Civilizational Dialogue at the National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan.


Among those in attendance were Azerbaijani lawmaker Gunay Afandiyeva, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei, representatives of think tanks, Chinese experts, as well as cultural and arts figures and journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.


The participants said relations between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping, based on mutual trust, are contributing to the expansion of the strategic partnership between the two countries.


They also emphasised the contribution of projects by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the development of cultural ties linked to the historical Silk Road.


Participants discussed prospects for the development of Azerbaijan–China cooperation and the role of art in strengthening dialogue between peoples.


As part of the event, exhibitions of Chinese art from the collection of the National Museum of Art of Azerbaijan were presented. Guests were also introduced to rare exhibits and their historical and artistic significance.
