US President Donald Trump held a telephone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss a developing memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran aimed at launching negotiations with Iran, according to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office cited by Caliber.Az.
The conversation focused on the framework of the emerging agreement, which is intended to pave the way for formal talks. While Israel is not a party to the memorandum, Netanyahu used the call to convey Israel’s position and expectations regarding any eventual deal.
“President Trump spoke this evening with Prime Minister Netanyahu about the emerging memorandum of understanding with Iran for entering into negotiations. Despite the fact that Israel is not a party to this memorandum, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to President Trump for his commitment to ensuring that the final agreement at the conclusion of the negotiations includes the removal of enriched material, the dismantling of enrichment infrastructure, limitations on missile production, and the cessation of Iran’s support for its proxy forces in the region,” the statement said.
