The US Embassy in Baghdad has called on American citizens in Iraq to exercise heightened vigilance and leave the country, citing the risk of sudden travel disruptions amid escalating regional tensions.
In a statement, the embassy warned that recent developments in the region could lead to interruptions in travel and the possible closure of airspace without prior notice, Caliber.Az reports.
The embassy said the US mission in Iraq continues to operate despite the ordered evacuation of some personnel. It also reiterated that Iraq remains subject to a Level 4 travel advisory — “Do not travel.”
