The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia totaled $1 billion 41 million 549.98 thousand in January–April 2026, marking a 1.8-fold decrease compared to the same period in 2025.


According to data from the State Customs Committee, as reported by Caliber.Az, Russia accounted for 5.98% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover during the reporting period. This placed Russia fifth among Azerbaijan’s largest trading partners, compared to third place and a 10.78% share a year earlier.


Statistical data show that Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia declined by 1.3% year-on-year, amounting to $318 million 817.54 thousand. The share of exports to Russia stood at 2.68%, down from 3.68% in January–April 2025.


At the same time, imports from Russia saw a sharper decline, falling by 2.1 times to $722 million 732.44 thousand. The share of imports from Russia accounted for 13.08% of total imports, compared to 18.45% in the same period last year.
