All personnel on board a military helicopter have been killed after a crash near Muzaffarabad in Pakistani-administered Kashmir, the Pakistani military said on June 10, without specifying the number of fatalities.

Pakistan Army Aviation said in a statement that the aircraft went down during take-off due to a technical fault, Reuters reports.

"An Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad today during take-off due to technical fault," the military said in a statement. "There were no survivors."

Rescue teams reached the site shortly after the incident, and a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact technical cause of the crash, it added.

A Reuters witness said the helicopter crashed while taking off and caught fire, with firefighters attempting to bring the blaze under control.
