Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held a phone call with UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell, during which the two sides discussed the country’s military and political situation, as well as the progress of ongoing negotiations.
“Powell assured the President of the Republic that the United Kingdom stands by Lebanon and supports its political choices aimed at preserving security and stability in the country,” the Lebanese presidency said in a statement.
