Italy has strongly condemned a drone incident in the Romanian city of Galați, describing it as a “dangerous escalation” following reports that a residential building was struck and two people, including a child, were injured.
Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said the incident could not be tolerated, according to a statement published on social media platform X by Italy’s Ministry of Defence.
“This is a dangerous and irresponsible escalation that cannot be tolerated,” Crosetto said, adding: “We express our deepest solidarity and support to Romania’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Radu Miriuță and to the entire Romanian people.”
He also stressed: “The security of one member of the Alliance and the European Union is the security of all of us.”
