The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has congratulated Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and the people of Georgia on Independence Day, underscoring what he described as new opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties.
According to Georgia’s Presidential Administration, Acting U.S. Ambassador Alan Purcell delivered the congratulatory letter to the Georgian side.
In his message, Trump said the United States sees scope to deepen cooperation and reinforce security and prosperity for both nations.
“This year offers fresh opportunities to reforge the bonds of friendship between the American and Georgian people, and to advance greater security and prosperity for both our nations. The United States remains steadfast in its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders," Trump said.
"We stand with the Georgian people as they pursue lasting security, self-determination, and independence.”
