European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has expressed strong support for the Baltic states during a visit to Vilnius, amid reports of increased “stray” drone activity in their airspace.
During her trip to Lithuania’s capital, von der Leyen said the European Union stands firmly with Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and that support for the region would be strengthened, Caliber.Az reports.
In comments posted on social media platform X, she said her visit was intended to deliver a clear message of unity and solidarity with the three Baltic countries.
"And we are stepping up our support. Because when Baltic States are being tested, Europe as a whole is being tested," she wrote.
