Turkish authorities have detained 13 people as part of an investigation into alleged interference in delegate voting during the 38th Congress of the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), according to prosecutors.


The operation was conducted with the involvement of the Financial Crimes Bureau, the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office said, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media


Raids were carried out across seven provinces — Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Şanlıurfa Province, Kahramanmaraş Province, Kilis Province, and Malatya Province — at addresses identified in advance by investigators.


Authorities said searches were conducted during the operation and various materials were seized.


The suspects face allegations including violations of Türkiye's law on political parties, bribery, and money laundering.
