Türkiye has scheduled 1,506 additional airline flights during the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday period to accommodate increased passenger demand, according to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

Speaking to TRT Haber, Uraloğlu said airlines had adjusted their schedules in anticipation of a surge in travel before and after the holiday.

The minister said the extra flights are intended to help citizens travel more easily to visit relatives and return to their hometowns, while also easing congestion on major routes.

According to the ministry, the additional flights will operate between May 21 and June 3. Of the total, 1,214 flights will serve domestic destinations, while 292 will be international services.

Uraloğlu added that airlines are continuing to monitor travel demand and could increase the number of flights further if necessary.
