The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it carried out airstrikes targeting an underground weapons production facility in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, which it claimed was being used by Hezbollah to manufacture arms intended for attacks on Israeli forces and civilians.

The IDF press office said the facility belonged to Hezbollah and was used by militants to produce weapons for operations against Israeli troops in southern Lebanon, Caliber.Az reports.

The military also said additional Hezbollah infrastructure sites were struck in the area of the town of Tyre (Sur), alleging they were used to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli forces.

The IDF stated that it had taken precautions prior to the strikes, including advance warnings to civilians, the use of precision-guided munitions, and aerial surveillance, in an effort to minimize civilian harm.

“The IDF continues to act against threats to Israeli citizens and its forces in accordance with the instructions of the political leadership,” the statement said.
