Iran has accused the United States and its allies of obstructing progress at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference, following the failure of participants to adopt a final document for the third consecutive time.

In a statement posted on X, Iran’s mission to the United Nations said that US's "excessive demands push the NPT into free fall," Caliber.Az reports.

"The NPT Review Conference failed for the third consecutive time due to obstructionism by the United States and its allies. Iran’s warning: Without nuclear disarmament, no future can be envisaged for the NPT," the statement said.

The 11th NPT Review Conference, held in New York, concluded without consensus amid deep divisions between nuclear-armed states and a large group of countries advocating stronger commitments to nuclear disarmament.
