President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation in which they discussed strengthening bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
“The current issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance were discussed in the context of the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level,” the Uzbek president’s press service said.
“Productive contacts at various levels were noted with satisfaction. Interparliamentary, business, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are actively developing.
Trade turnover is steadily growing, having increased by 23 percent since the beginning of the year. The implementation of major cooperation projects in industry, energy, transport, and other priority sectors, including at the regional level, is continuing.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events,” the statement noted.
