Africa must take a unified position at WUF13 on issues including housing finance, climate resilience of urban areas, inclusive land governance, and decentralisation, Issaka Garba Abdou, a representative of the African Union, has stated at a ministerial meeting of African countries during the World Urban Forum in Baku.

He said the meeting carries major significance for the global community, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Africa must take a unified position at WUF13, as well as at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly dedicated to the New Urban Agenda, on issues including housing finance, climate resilience of urban areas, inclusive land governance, and decentralisation. Africa needs to present itself not as a set of fragmented national positions, but as a single continental program based on evidence and shared priorities,” he emphasised.
