Azerbaijan has showcased its investment potential and economic capabilities during an official visit to Ethiopia, highlighting opportunities for bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy told local media that the presentation focused on the country’s favourable business and investment climate, its expanding non-oil sector, and prospects for regional economic collaboration.

As part of the visit, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev held talks with Ethiopia’s Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Itefa Geleta. The discussions centred on potential cooperation in energy, water resource management, and renewable energy. Both sides underscored the importance of sharing expertise in green energy and advancing sustainable development initiatives.

Aliyev also met with Ethiopia’s State Minister of Agriculture, Deselgn Tashome. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, including agricultural processing, the use of innovative technologies, and ensuring food security.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation reviewed the operations of the MESOB Public Service Centre. Officials were briefed on the delivery of public services through a unified platform, as well as digital solutions and administrative mechanisms aimed at improving citizen satisfaction.

The visit reflects Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to expand international partnerships and promote its economic diversification strategy beyond the energy sector.
