French startup Genesis AI has unveiled a new AI model for controlling robots alongside a robotic arm designed to mimic human movements.

The company announced that its GENE-26.5 model can operate across a wide range of robotic systems, including those made by other manufacturers. Genesis AI is already in talks with potential clients in Europe, Caliber.Az reports citing Reuters.

The robotic arm is capable of performing precise tasks—from slicing food to handling small objects—and is aimed primarily at industrial applications.

Founded in December 2025 by Zhou Xian, who holds a PhD in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, and Théophile Gervet, a former research scientist with the French AI lab Mistral, the startup wants to build a general-purpose model that will enable robots to automate a wide range of repetitive tasks, from lab work to housekeeping.

Genesis AI, backed by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and telecoms tycoon Xavier Niel, has raised $105 million in funding since its inception, including backing from the French investment bank Bpifrance. The company is focused on strengthening Europe’s industrial capabilities.
