BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. Azerbaijan and the
Netherlands intend to broaden cooperation in the development of the
Middle Corridor, Dutch Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marianne de Jong
said during a briefing in Baku on the occasion of King’s Day,
Trend
reports.

“Another area we aim to focus on in the coming years is
transport connectivity, especially in the context of the
development of the Middle Corridor. We clearly see the strategic
importance of Azerbaijan as a key transport hub on land and at sea.
The Netherlands, in turn, also holds a strategic position in
Northern Europe thanks to its maritime and land routes. In this
regard, it seems to me that we have much to learn from each other,”
she said.

The diplomat noted that active cooperation between the two
countries in the port and logistics sectors has already been
established and is set to be further expanded and strengthened.

“Rotterdam Port is the largest port in Europe, while Baku is
gradually becoming an important regional and possibly global trade
and logistics hub. Therefore, we are interested in further
cooperation, exchange of experience, and joint project
implementation, including within the framework of the development
of the Baku Port and broader infrastructure initiatives,” she
said.
