Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated as a result of what he described as aggression against Iran, according to Russian media.

“We observe that the level of tension in the region is rising and continues to grow. In fact, the entire region is ablaze. These are all very dangerous negative consequences of the aggression unleashed against Iran. The geography of this conflict has expanded, and now we are witnessing its consequences,” he said.

Regarding new threats made by US President Donald Trump toward Iran, Peskov noted that the Kremlin has reviewed the statements but prefers not to comment on them. “We have seen these statements and prefer not to comment,” he added.
