Iran has rejected a US proposal for a temporary ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz, officials familiar with the matter said.


Mediators from Pakistan, Türkiye, and Egypt are attempting to advance negotiations, but Tehran considers Washington’s demands unacceptable, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.


Iran rejected the proposals, including an offer to restore traffic through the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a ceasefire, and also refused to meet with US officials.
