BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. Turkmenistan
attaches particular importance to the development of the East-West
and North-South corridors as part of the revival of the Great Silk
Road in its modern form, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyyev, said, Trend reports.

He made the statement during the second meeting of heads of
government and vice presidents of the member states of the
Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku.

According to him, one of the key tasks remains the further
development of economic partnership through the full utilization of
existing opportunities. Priority areas include expanding investment
cooperation, developing industrial cooperation, and increasing the
number of joint projects.

“The development of transport and logistics infrastructure plays
a special role in this process. The advantageous geographical
location of the Turkic states opens up broad strategic
opportunities and allows them to serve as important transit hubs in
international logistics,” Ataguliyev said.

He added that routes such as the Trans-Caspian International
Transport Corridor, the “Lapis Lazuli” Corridor, and the Caspian
Sea–Black Sea and Central Asia–Middle East routes play an important
role for the country.

''Their development opens up new opportunities for trade growth
and expanded cooperation,'' he added.
